Role description
About Rely.io
About the role
We’re assembling a fantastic team of experienced, product-minded engineers — our early team is made up of people who have spent years writing reliable and scalable software at scale for companies like OutSystems, BMW and EDP.
As an early Senior Full Stack Engineer, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the product and the way we build it. We’ve laid some good foundations, but we’re still very early in our journey, have a ton of things we want to build and a lot to learn along the way!
Some of your core functions will include:
- Scope, design, implement, test, maintain and own end-to-end feature sets for our web application
- Help architect core parts of our web application from the ground up in a reliable way
- Own the reliability of the code you ship to production, monitoring and responding to production issues
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Lead, coach and hire for the web application team
- Build modular code and components (following the atomic design principles)
- Make and own decisions on feature sets according to time, team and other constraints
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks like Javascript, Typescript, React, etc.
- Want to help build and lead a team, not just be part of it. You’re happy to take the extra time to explain things, provide actionable feedback, and level up those around you.
- Use technical debt as a tool. You care about resilience, tests and documentation, but understand there are times we need to ship quickly and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- Strong written communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts to non-engineers.
- Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.
- Have a strong will to improve processes and product with no fear of suggesting changes towards it.
